- Who can join us at the Super Summer Music Camp?
Any student who is entering grades 4th—12th grade in the Fall of the 2024 school year.
- Do I need to Attend all three weeks?
Not at all. We understand that kids are very busy during the summer. Campers are however encouraged to attend the entire three week duration of the program as each day builds on the previous days learning.
- What book do I need for my lessons?
Beg Band Lessons: Standard of Excellence, Bk 1
Inter Band Lessons: Standard of Excellence, Bk 1
Advanced Band Lessons: Teacher supplied
Beg Guitar: Alfred's Basic Guitar Method, Bk 1, 3rd Ed.
Ukulele Band: Teacher supplied
- Can I play two instruments at camp?
We encourage students to try new things and take lessons on a new instrument. We call this a second instrument. For example, if you would like to try guitar lessons (second instrument) during camp but play trombone (primary instrument) in your school band, you can request to play your primary instrument in ensembles/electives and still take lessons on a new second instrument.
- How do I get an instrument?
All campers must supply their own instruments. For new instruments, we recommend Music & Arts. A borrowed/pre-owned instrument is great, just make sure it is in good working order. If you need assistance purchasing one online, just send Mr. Jacobsen a link(s) to what you are thinking about buying. Please be aware of deals that are too good to be true when it comes to renting/buying. Most of those instruments play out of tune, break frequently and are difficult to repair.
- Where can I rent an instrument?
You can get an instrument anywhere you wish.
